The article explores how students create problem statements for their capstone projects. Different programs have different ideas about what makes a good problem statement. The study found that academia and industry mostly agree on what makes a good problem statement, but differ on two key characteristics: Identified Design Methods and Evidence of Current Art Research. Industry tends to have stricter standards for these two characteristics.
