Transformational leaders inspire ethical behavior in Islamic organizations, study finds.
The article explores how different leadership styles impact employees' behavior in private banks in Tehran, Iran. Transactional and transformational leadership positively influence employees' organizational citizenship behavior from an Islamic perspective. However, entrepreneurial and authentic leadership do not have the same effect. Transformational leadership has a stronger impact on organizational citizenship behavior than transactional leadership. Each leadership style affects different aspects of organizational citizenship behavior, such as altruism, civic virtue, and advocating high moral standards. This study sheds light on the unique influence of various leadership approaches on employees' behavior in the workplace.
