No-Tillage with Weed Cover Reduces Soil Losses in Organic Farming.
The researchers compared traditional tilling with a newer method called No-Tillage in an organic persimmon farm. They wanted to see which method was better for the soil and environment. After 3 years, they found that No-Tillage with weed cover reduced soil erosion and runoff compared to tilling. The soil under No-Tillage had more plant cover, similar organic matter, and lower density. This means that No-Tillage is a promising way to protect the soil and meet sustainable development goals.
