Optimizing nitrogen fertilizer application boosts rice growth and yield significantly.
The researchers studied how different times of applying nitrogen fertilizer affect the growth and yield of rice. They tested 4 treatments with varying frequencies of fertilizer application on a specific rice variety. Results showed that applying the fertilizer 3 times led to better leaf width, plant height, panicle number, and grain weight. Applying it only once or twice did not show significant differences in growth and yield. Therefore, applying nitrogen fertilizer 3 times can help rice plants grow better and produce more grains.
