Sophocarpine Offers Hope for Treating Alcoholic Liver Disease, Reducing Inflammation
The researchers studied the effects of sophocarpine on rats with alcoholic liver disease. They divided the rats into different groups and treated them with sophocarpine for 12 weeks. The results showed that sophocarpine improved liver health by reducing inflammation and fat accumulation. Levels of liver enzymes and fats decreased significantly in the treated groups compared to the untreated group. The expression of inflammatory markers in the liver also decreased after sophocarpine treatment. This suggests that sophocarpine may be beneficial in treating alcoholic liver disease by reducing inflammation and improving liver function.
