Urban sprawl threatens soil peak - Circular Land Use Management offers solution
Soil is a crucial resource, but urbanization is threatening its availability for agriculture and nature. Traditional land use regulations are not enough to prevent unsustainable practices like urban sprawl. The CircUse project aims to promote sustainable land use in Central Europe by following the principles of "avoid, recycle, compensate". By developing a strategy and tools to assess urban development potential, the project partners are working towards improving land use effectiveness and addressing stakeholders' interests. The project has produced action plans in six countries to guide better land management practices.
