The study aimed to see how a combination of sleeve gastrectomy and side-to-side jejunoileal anastomosis affects weight loss and metabolic control in rats with type 2 diabetes. They divided the rats into different groups and measured their body weight, blood glucose levels, and hormones like insulin and GLP-1. The results showed that the rats who had the combined surgery had better weight loss and blood glucose control compared to those who had only sleeve gastrectomy or no surgery at all. Additionally, the levels of GLP-1 hormone were higher in the rats who had the combined surgery.
