The researchers wanted to see if injecting ozone into the joints of rats with arthritis could help reduce swelling and joint damage. They also looked at how ozone affected certain proteins in the blood related to arthritis. After three weeks of ozone injections, the rats had less foot swelling and joint damage compared to rats with arthritis that didn't get ozone. The levels of certain proteins related to arthritis were also lower in the rats that received ozone injections. This suggests that ozone injections may be helpful in reducing arthritis symptoms in rats.
