Leptin Protects Sperm from Freezing Damage, Boosts Fertility Potential
In this study, researchers wanted to see if adding a protein called leptin to sperm samples before freezing could help protect sperm quality. They collected sperm samples from two groups of men, one normal and one with low sperm mobility and concentration. By adding leptin, they found that after thawing, the sperm had better viability and movement compared to untreated samples. The sperm also had less DNA damage and oxidative stress, indicating that leptin can help preserve sperm quality during freezing and thawing processes. This study suggests that leptin could be beneficial in improving the survival and function of sperm after freezing.
