The article mapped research on sustainability in pig farming, looking at economic, environmental, and social aspects. They found more studies on environmental sustainability than economic or social. However, comparing studies is tricky due to the many different aspects within each dimension. The interrelations between different aspects of sustainability are not well understood, and possible trade-offs or synergies remain unidentified. This review helps identify knowledge gaps and prioritize future research to improve sustainability in pig production.
