Nitrogen Fertilizer Levels Impact Growth Rates and Nodulation of Legumes
Three different levels of nitrogen fertilizer were tested on grasses and legumes at Oakley Farm in TN. Grasses showed increased growth with higher nitrogen levels. Legumes, which can make their own nitrogen, may become less efficient at fixing nitrogen when additional fertilizer is added. The study will monitor plant growth, root nodulation, and dry matter yield to see how nitrogen affects legumes.
