Recycling Electric Arc Furnace Dust Recovers Valuable Metals, Reducing Waste and Boosting Sustainability
The researchers wanted to see if they could recycle electric arc furnace dust by turning it into a briquette. They tested different briquette compositions to find the best one for recovering elements like chromium, vanadium, and tungsten. They found that the briquette with 20% carbon had the fastest reaction. Overall, they were able to recover 48.1% chromium, 72.7% tungsten, and 47.5% vanadium from the dust.
