Wave-Dominated Coastline Grows 90m with Beach Nourishment, Faces Winter Erosion.
Beach nourishment was done on a wave-dominated coast in Portugal to increase beach size and reduce erosion. Video monitoring was used to track changes in the shoreline over six months. The nourishment in summer added about 90 meters of beach, but winter waves caused a 50-meter retreat. The northern part of the beach was most at risk of erosion.
