River Ganga Pollution Reaches Alarming Levels, Urgent Action Needed
The study looked at pollution in the Ganga River at Dakshineswar Ghat in India. Water samples were collected over two years and analyzed for different chemicals. The results showed that the water quality is very poor, with levels of pollutants higher than recommended. The pH levels were normal, but Total Dissolved Solids were slightly high, especially after the monsoon season. This suggests that the water needs treatment before use, and there is a need to control waste disposal from domestic and industrial sources to protect the river.
