Turning kitchen waste and cow manure into biogas goldmine!
Organic waste can be turned into biogas by mixing it with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and cow manure. The researchers tested different concentrations of S. cerevisiae and ratios of organic waste to cow manure to see which combination produced the most biogas. They found that using 2 grams of S. cerevisiae with equal parts kitchen waste and cow manure resulted in the highest biogas production. This mixture also decreased the C/N ratio and had a final sludge pH of 6.81.
