Revolutionary Composting Method Destroys Pathogens and Enhances Soil Quality
The researchers studied how mixing rice straw ash with food waste affects compost quality. They used different airflow rates and found that a rate of 0.6L/min.kg helped maintain high temperatures for pathogen destruction. The final C:N ratio of the compost mixtures was 11, with pH levels between 7-8 and moisture content between 40-70%. However, the germination index never exceeded 80% in any of the compost mixtures.
