The study looked at how preservation policies affected forest cover changes in Iranian Zagros forests. They found that despite the policies, deforestation increased after the plan was implemented. Factors like distance from rivers, croplands, cities, roads, and slope were linked to deforestation activities. Areas with low slope and close to these features were more likely to experience deforestation.
