Revolutionary Fungi and Compost Combo Saves Chilli Plants from Drought
The study looked at how adding certain fungi and compost to soil can help plants absorb water better when it's really dry. They found that using a type of fungi called arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) helped chili plants take up water even when the soil was almost dry enough to make them wilt. Adding 15 grams of AMF per plant made the chili plants last longer without wilting compared to plants without AMF. This happened because the roots of the plants had more of the AMF living on them.
