Seawater Purification Breakthrough: Electrochemical Process Eliminates Toxic BTEX Compounds
The researchers tested a new method to remove harmful chemicals like benzene from salty water. They used a special machine with a diamond-coated electrode and found that by adjusting the electric current and flow rate, they could remove most of the chemicals in just a few hours. Xylenes and ethyl benzene were completely removed in 30 minutes, while benzene took 2 hours to remove most of it. This study shows that this method can effectively clean up polluted water.
