The land registration program in Rwanda has improved tenure security and reduced land conflicts in Gataraga sector. It has also increased the value of land as collateral for loans. However, accessing loans by mortgaging land depends on household characteristics. Wealthier farmers benefit more from the program than poorer farmers, with land rental being the most common form of land market.
