Reducing Chemical Fertilizers Boosts Crop Yield and Soil Health.
Reducing chemical fertilizers and using organic fertilizers can help protect the environment and improve soil quality for farming. A study in the Three Gorges Reservoir area looked at different fertilization methods for rapeseed and corn crops on sloping purple soil. They found that using less chemical fertilizer combined with straw or biochar can increase soil nitrogen and phosphorus levels. This approach also improved fertilizer efficiency and did not significantly reduce crop yields. Overall, reducing chemical fertilizers and using organic options can enhance soil nutrients, boost fertilizer effectiveness, and lessen the impact of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers on crop production.
