Solar-Powered Greenhouses Boost Pepper Yields, Revolutionize Sustainable Farming
Solar energy was used to improve greenhouse conditions for growing pepper crops. Two greenhouses were compared: one with a solar heating system (developed) and one without (traditional). The solar-heated greenhouse had more even temperatures inside, with higher soil temperatures at different depths. It received more ultraviolet light and required less heating, showing better conditions for pepper plants. The developed greenhouse yielded higher quality peppers earlier than the traditional one, with better growth overall. The study confirms that using solar energy for heating in greenhouses benefits pepper crop production.
