The researchers studied how different weed management methods affect the growth and yield of summer groundnut plants in Maharashtra. They tested eight treatments, including using herbicides and manual weeding. The weed-free check had the best results, with the lowest weed intensity and highest yield. Treatments with pre-emergence herbicide application followed by hand weeding or hoeing also showed good weed control efficiency. The treatments with the best weed control were comparable to the weed-free check. Overall, integrated weed management methods were effective in controlling weeds and improving groundnut yield in the study.
