Optimizing irrigation boosts rice yield and quality, revolutionizing farming practices.
The study looked at how different amounts of water and nitrogen affect the growth and quality of paddy rice and upland rice. They tested different irrigation methods and nitrogen levels on two types of rice. The results showed that paddy rice grew best with normal nitrogen levels and bare-dry cultivation, while upland rice did best with normal nitrogen levels and continuous flooding. Increasing nitrogen levels affected the quality of the rice, with some changes in chalkiness and cooking quality. Overall, upland rice did better with normal nitrogen levels and bare-dry cultivation, while paddy rice did well with normal nitrogen levels and either bare-dry or continuous flooding.
