Minimum tillage boosts crop yield and energy efficiency in reclaimed soil.
The study looked at how different tillage methods affect soil properties and crop productivity in a dryland area. They compared conventional tillage (chisel plowing and harrowing) with two minimum tillage methods. The results showed that minimum tillage with a chisel plow helped conserve moisture and improve soil structure, leading to better yields. Conventional tillage gave the highest grain and biomass yields, while harrowing had the lowest. Overall, conventional tillage was recommended for growing wheat and corn in the region.
