The goal of the research was to see how well the international soil classification system (WRB-2015) matches up with the classification system used in Azerbaijan. By comparing the two systems, the researchers found that there is a correlation between them, especially at different levels of classification. For example, irrigated meadow-grey soils in Azerbaijan were found to be similar to Anthrosols in the international system, while meadow-grey soils were more like Calcisols and Gleysols. This shows that the two classification systems can be linked together, helping to better understand and categorize different types of soils in Azerbaijan.
