AmeriCorps Vocabulary Intervention Boosts Kindergarten Students' Language Skills Significantly
The study looked at how to help kids who struggle with reading by teaching them new words. They had some kindergarten students work with AmeriCorps volunteers on learning new words, and found that these kids got better at vocabulary. However, the same improvement wasn't seen in first-grade students. This shows that teaching vocabulary to struggling readers can work, but more research is needed to figure out the best ways to do it.
