Software vulnerabilities are common flaws in code that can be exploited by attackers to gain access to a system. Despite efforts to prevent them, the number of reported vulnerabilities is increasing. To address this, tools are needed to help programmers avoid or detect vulnerabilities during code development. The article reviews different methods for preventing and detecting software vulnerabilities.
