Residential Green Roofs Slash Stormwater Runoff, Boosting Environmental Sustainability.
The study evaluated how well a green roof system on residential buildings can hold onto rainwater. They built different roof models with and without green roofs and found that the green roofs kept 42.1% of the rainwater, while regular roofs only kept 18.3%. The green roofs worked best during light rain and didn't make a difference in how much water they kept based on the roof's slope.
