Low seeding density boosts rice growth and profits in rainfed areas.
The study looked at how different amounts of rice seeds planted in a field affected the growth and yield of the rice plants. They found that using a lower seeding density of 40 grams per square meter resulted in taller seedlings, more leaves, and higher crop growth rate compared to higher densities. The highest number of effective tillers, filled grains per panicle, and grain yield were seen with the lowest seeding density. In fact, using 40 grams per square meter led to significantly higher grain yield and better profitability compared to higher densities like 160 grams per square meter.
