Unlocking Engineering Students' Potential Through Piaget's Equilibration Theory
The article explores how engineering students learn new concepts using Piaget's equilibration theory. The researchers studied 18 Brazilian engineering students in an introductory course over two semesters. The course focused on connecting Science, Art, Technology, and Engineering concepts to improve critical thinking. Through interviews and analysis, they found that Piaget's theory is useful for conceptual learning in engineering education, especially in courses that emphasize critical thinking skills.
