Field experiments in Nigeria showed that weeding twice or thrice led to similar sesame seed yields as weed-free conditions. Among five sesame varieties tested, NCRI BEN-01M, NCRI BEN-03L, and E-8 were the best performers. Weeding twice was found to be sufficient for optimal seed yield production.
