Grazing exclusion by fence not effective in restoring Mongolian grasslands.
Grazing exclusion by fence in Mongolian rangelands can affect vegetation and plant diversity. The study looked at different grassland types and found that fencing can increase vegetation height but may not always improve vegetation cover. Species richness decreases with grazing exclusion, while evenness stays relatively stable. Overall, fencing is not a great solution for restoring degraded grasslands in Mongolia.
