The study aimed to find better ways to use nitrogen in growing rapeseed and rice together. By testing different nitrogen levels and application methods, researchers found that using less nitrogen during the rapeseed season and specific fertilizer amounts during the rice season led to higher rice yields. This method not only increased productivity but also saved nitrogen and was better for the environment in southern China.
