Florida adopts new pollution limits to protect water quality and aquatic life.
The dataset contains information on Adopted Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) in Florida, which are limits on pollutants in water bodies to protect human health and aquatic life. TMDLs are developed for pollutants like nutrients, bacteria, and mercury to restore impaired water bodies. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection uses unique WBID numbers to assess water segments. TMDLs cover parameters like Dissolved Oxygen, BOD, Nutrients, Fecal Coliforms, and other pollutants like Iron and Turbidity. TMDLs are either in the planning stage, adopted by the state, or approved by the EPA.
