A new type of cooling system using a mix of ammonia and lithium nitrate has been developed for solar-powered air conditioning in hot climates. This system is safer and more efficient than traditional ones, making it ideal for places like the Mediterranean. Researchers at a university in Spain have created and tested two small prototypes of this system, one cooled by water and the other by air. They found that these prototypes can provide cooling even in high heat conditions, with different temperatures for the hot and cold water used. The results show that this new cooling system works well and could be a promising option for solar cooling in sunny regions.
