The article discusses the urgent need for land market reform in Ukraine, focusing on the transition from a moratorium on agricultural land sales to a modern market. The researchers analyzed the current state of land reform in Ukraine and compared it to European countries. They found that the moratorium leads to a gray market benefiting large corporations and violating rights of other businesses. European countries regulate land ownership through size limits, purpose restrictions, and permits. To protect landowners' rights and develop the market, leasing land is important. The EU's experience shows that promoting farming methods of land use is key for a successful land market.
