Urea and Enzyme Treatment Boosts Wheat Straw Digestibility for Livestock.
The researchers looked at how adding enzymes to wheat straw treated with urea affects its digestion. They found that adding enzymes to urea-treated straw increased the breakdown of nutrients, but the effect was not significant compared to enzyme-treated straw alone. The untreated straw had the highest amount of degradable material. Overall, adding enzymes to urea-treated straw improved its digestibility, but not significantly more than enzyme-treated straw alone.
