Educational and Gender Inequality Drive Income Inequality in South Asia.
The study looked at how education and gender inequality affect income and income inequality in South Asian countries. They used a model to estimate how education impacts income, and measured inequality using the Gini coefficient. The findings showed that unequal education increases income inequality, with primary and tertiary education reducing it, while secondary education widens the gap. Gender inequality in education also affects income inequality, with unequal distribution at different levels impacting per capita income. The study suggests that providing free education in poor areas, creating employment programs, and building more schools for girls can help reduce income and educational inequality in South Asia.
