Institutional farming boosts production, productivity, and income for farmers.
The goal of the study was to help farmers increase their production, productivity, and income by organizing their land through institutional programs. The researchers focused on two villages and surveyed 80 farmers, some involved in the programs and some not. By consolidating land and implementing corporate farming, they were able to integrate 28 hectares of wet rice fields into 4 farmer groups. This led to higher paddy production, improved efficiency in production costs, increased use of farm equipment, and more job opportunities, especially for women. Overall, the programs helped increase farmers' income by IDR 3,185,241.56 per hectare per period.
