Ridge regression is a method used in statistics when there are problems with multicollinearity in linear regression. A new technique was developed to choose the ridge parameter for ridge regression by using genetic algorithms and managing Variance Inflation Factors. The study compared ordinary ridge regression and generalized ridge regression, finding that the latter gives better results in terms of accuracy and prediction errors.
