Australians Overwhelmingly Support Healthy Food Policies, Yet Government Lags Behind
Government policies play a big role in promoting healthy eating habits. A study looked at what Australians think about nutrition policies from 2009 to 2019. They found that people generally support laws and rules to improve public health through nutrition. However, not many people are in favor of taxes on food and drinks. Even though many Australians support certain policies, the country's nutrition policies haven't changed much in the past decade. This suggests that there are other important factors influencing how policies are made.
