Potato Farmers Boost Yields by 50% with Nutrient-Rich Soil Amendments
The study looked at how different ways of managing nutrients affected the growth and yield of potato plants in clay soil in Punjab. They tried out 13 different methods and found that using a mix of different nutrients like poultry manure, sulfur, zinc, vermicompost, and Azotobacter led to the best results. The plants were taller, had more branches, and produced more tubers when this mix was used compared to other methods tested. Overall, this integrated approach to nutrient management helped the potato plants grow better and produce more tubers in the end.
