New approach reveals natural capital key to sustainable regional development in Russia.
The article discusses the need for new sustainable development models in Russia's regions to withstand economic crises. The authors introduce a method to assess the sustainability of regional ecosystems by analyzing the entropy of different types of capital (human, production, natural). They applied this method to case studies in Penza and Vladimir regions and found that the sustainability of these ecosystems is mainly due to their natural resources. This approach aims to provide a comprehensive evaluation to support decision-making processes.
