New method turns rice straw into high-quality feed for livestock.
Researchers studied how adding Lactobacillus casei TH14 and other substances to ensiled rice straw affects its quality and digestibility. They found that treating rice straw with these additives decreased fiber content, improved fermentation, and increased lactic acid bacteria. The combination of additives also increased gas production and dry matter digestibility, showing potential for enhancing the nutritive value of ensiled rice straw.
