A new waveguide structure with special surfaces was created to let more waves pass through at higher frequencies without making the waveguide bigger. By adding certain patterns inside the waveguide, the cutoff frequency was increased, allowing more signals to go through. This means the waveguide can handle higher frequencies without needing to be larger.
