Intercropping legumes boosts sugarcane yield by 10%, revolutionizing farming practices.
A study was conducted to find the best way to increase sugarcane productivity by using different legume crops as green manure. They tested various combinations of sugarcane with legumes and different fertilizer doses. The results showed that planting sugarcane with dhaincha and using a specific fertilizer dose led to higher shoot population, cane yield, and sugar content compared to other treatments. This method resulted in 10.35% more cane yield and was the most profitable option for sugarcane cultivation.
