The article outlines design criteria for a user-friendly computer interface to access multiple remote information systems. The goal is to make it easy for users to retrieve, store, and work with data from different systems without needing to learn each system's specifics. The design includes features to make it user-friendly for a wide range of people and utilizes computer graphics where helpful. Additionally, a data collection system for evaluation purposes is described.
