New method detects dangerous electrical faults before they cause harm.
Skewness methods can detect asymmetry caused by High Impedance Faults in electrical currents. Relative skewness is a better way to find these changes in the current flow. Four methods were tested, and Pearson's moment coefficient of skewness was the most effective at separating asymmetry after a fault. This can help distinguish High Impedance Fault-induced changes from other disturbances.
