Researchers studied carbon fluxes in arid and semi-arid ecosystems in northwest China from 2014 to 2016. They compared different methods of measuring carbon uptake by plants and found that the GOSIF method performed well. However, other methods underestimated plant productivity due to factors like inaccurate models and data. More research is needed to accurately measure plant growth in dryland areas.
